Taylor Swift Talks Songwriting, Red Tour Surprises in Behind-the-Scenes Diet Coke Clip
Taylor Swift has partnered with Diet Coke and the singer took us behind the scenes of her new ad for the soft drink giant. In between clips from the spot, she revealed her perspective on songwriting and growing up. She also shared some hints about what to expect on her upcoming Red Tour, which launches March 13.
“I try to age gracefully,” the singer, 23, states. “It’s what I was trying to do when I was 18. Don’t try to be 25. Hopefully, when I’m 70, I’m not trying to be 25â¦I’m not trying to grow up too fast. Being 23, it’s fun to play with style and edge it up sometimes.”
She also talks about the difference between writing songs at age 12 and at age 23, and how a lot has changed regarding her life circumstances, but the reason she writes about her personal situations remains the same. It all boils down to her strong relationship with her fans and how she doesn’t hide much from them. “They know what the last two years of my life are like if they have my record,” she says.
As for the surprises she has planned for the Red Tour? She is going to incorporate the unexpected, such as reformulating a song to sound different or she will use an different visual or quick change outfits in the blink of an eye.
Her unwavering wish remains the same — she wants to give her fans more bang for their buck and to help them lose themselves in her music and performance, and to be fully entertained without a care in the world, if only for a few hours. “A good concert can be like a good book. It can take you away and help you escape. That’s my main goal, if only just for one night, you know?,” Swift explains.
A video series debuts on March 13, the same day the tour starts, and it will offer insight into things that go into the tour, including, hair, makeup and wardrobe. Throw the Diet Coke Facebook page a “Like” and you can gain access to that content.
