Back in October, the Franklin Street Events Association began asking for public donations to help purchase a trolley designed to transport passengers between the various Evansville entertainment districts, such as Franklin Street and the Haynie's Corner Arts District. Thanks to the public's generosity, they were able to purchase said trolley, and on Thursday it came one step closer to serving its purpose as it arrived in town on the back of a flatbed semi truck.

Amy Word-Smith, president of the Franklin Street Events Association, and owner of both Lamasco Bar & Grill on Franklin and The Dapper Pig at Haynie's Corner shared the trolley's arrival through the TED: Trolley of Evansville Districts Facebook page.

As of this writing, there's no word on when the trolley will begin taking passengers between the city's districts, however organizers are currently seeking individuals interested in becoming a driver.
