How David Letterman Helped Me Return to Normal on Air After the 9/11 Attacks
September 11, 2012 Today is the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York City back in 2001, perhaps the darkest day in our history. Leslie and I were reflecting this morning on where we were when the attacks happened and what we were doing. I was on the air on WKDQ when I heard a sound bite on the ABC newscast I was recording about a small plane hitting one of the World Trade Center towers. I was just coming out of a break, made the announcement about what I had heard and said we would have an update after the song, not having any clue of what had just occurred.
