January 27, 2012 The other day, I posted an article on wkdq.com about the the three public meetings to be held about what should be done with Roberts Stadium. The first meeting was held last night at the Centre and the turnout was very light, only about 40 showed up. The 40 that were there, did make the meeting very productive and some very good, well thought out ideas were presented.
January 23, 2012 The Evansville chapter of the American Red Cross is hosting a 'Donor Rama' today until 6pm at the Red Cross offices located at the Lloyd and Stockwell. Did you know that every two seconds in this country, someone needs a blood transfusion?
January 23, 2012 Evansville's existing smoking ordinance could get a lot tighter as a result of an ordinance that will be introduced to the City Council tonight. Both sides will be represented tonight by representatives of Casino Aztar and the local Smoke Free initiative.
January 19, 2012 LST 325 has been docked at Evansville's Marina Pointe since 2005 and remains a popular tourist attraction. Evansville made a successful bid in 2005 to have the ship docked here. The eight member LST board of Directors come to Evansville several times a year from seven states.
December 28, 2011 The Zac Brown Band will be making their first appearance as a headliner tonight at the Ford Center in Downtown Evansville at 7pm. The band has enjoyed a meteoric rise to stardom since their single 'Chicken Fried' hit the charts in 2009.
December 19, 2011 The city of Evansville has just begun it's bicentennial celebration with a look back at the city during festivities on Sunday at the Ford Center. Outgoing Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel also announed plans to build a 'Bicentennial Park' that will commemorate 200 years of existence.

December 9, 2011 Thursday, I was able to try the newest restaurant in Evansville. It's Roppongi Japanese Steak and Sushi Restaurant located off of the East Lloyd Expressway between Outback and O'Charleys.
I was SOOOOO impressed!! It is WONDERFUL!! Beautiful and YUMMY!! Get there as soon as you can!! :-)

The 90th Fall Festival got underway today on the West Side and they have many new food items in addition to the usual fare. One thing that is great and reasonably friendly in terms of calories is the 'Haystack', which is basically a taco salad with small fritos and chili and it tastes great. The 'Haystack' is available at booth #4, 30, 42,47,52,76 and 84.
September 26, 2011 Pizza King's annual 'Stromfest' competition is in the books and Townsquare Media has defended it's title as 'strom eating' champs for the second straight year. Every year, Pizza King does a strom promotion for which a portion of the proceeds goes to Evansville charities 911 Gives Hope and The Boys and Girls Club of Evansville.
