With all the new country songs with rock and rap influences out there, I've seen less and less true country in country music lately.  Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with the new stuff, I just think there's room for the classic sound mixed in.  Luckily there are at least five songs on the charts, by relevant artists, that give me hope country is not dead just yet!

We have a new champ in today's Country Whuppin', as Josh Turner has dethroned Raelynn!  "Lay Low" now goes into battle to face a new challenge from Eric Paslay.  The third release from his debut album is a traditional country ballad called "She Don't Love You."

Kellie Pickler has just become the second artist ever to enter the Country Whuppin' Hall of Fame twice!  Since her song is now retired, we have two brand new songs going head to head.  One song features Kellie's hubby co-writing for Eli Young Band.  The other features a guy who has written a number one for the Eli Young Band before, Eric Paslay!
