If you are a fan of Jim Carrey movies, there is a good chance that one of your favorites is 'Liar, Liar'. In one very funny scene, Carrey's character who plays a lawyer, needs to get the judge to grant a continuance. He does this by asking to be excused for a restroom break and then proceeds to beat the crap out of himself only to go back into the courtroom and say he had been assaulted in the restroom. Now, enter Daniel Vagnini, a Farmington, Connecticut man who came up with a pretty boneheaded idea ala Jim Carrey. Authorities say Vagnini beat himself up to prove to police he had been assaulted to get out of being charged with drunken driving last Saturday.
