2012 marks the 20th anniversary of the motion Picture 'A League of Their Own' which was shot at historic Bosse Field. To commemorate the anniversary, the movie will be shown at Bosse Field on Friday June 22nd at 8pm. Tickets will be $5 for general admission and $8 for box seats to see the movie that has become a sports classic and put Bosse Field on an international stage.

The Evansville Otters begin the 2012 season tonight at Bosse Field at 6:35 pm against the Washington Wild Things. If the exhibition season was any indication, the Otters should have great year. Otter baseball is the single best family value in Evansville...period! Historic Bosse Field is a great place to see a game because there is no such thing as a bad seat at Bosse which is the third oldest active baseball stadium in America, second only to Fenway Park in Boston and Wrigley Field in Chicago.

The Evansville Otters are kicking off the 2012 season with a big pep rally at Bosse Field this Wednesday from 4-6pm. I will never forget that moment in 1985 when my beloved Dodgers were one out away from the World Series when Jack Clark came to the plate with two on and two out in the ninth, Dodgers leading 5-4. Tom Niedenfuer threw a pitch that Clark crushed into the left field pavillion giving the Cardinals a 7-5 win over the Dodgers and a trip to the World Series against Kansas City.

Yesterday afternoon was a little warm at historic Bosse Field, but it was an otherwise perfect day to watch the Evasville Otters and the Corn Belters from Normal, Il. Attendance was ver sparce which is really surprising given how little it actually costs to see an Otters game. Gas prices are at an all time high and the cost of living is skyrocketing and families are struggling to find activities that are affordable. Have you tried to take the family to a movie lately? The cost of a movie plus popcorn and drinks is outrageous and forget about the IMAX.
