Stealing The Covers – Holding Her And Loving You

This is a new segment where I will reveal covers of songs you may not have even known were covers.  You can check out both versions right here.  Today we go back and get the classic Earl Thomas Conley hit “Holding Her and Loving You.”

The song was a number one hit for Conley in 1983, and it had all the makings of an amazing country cheating song.

In 1999, Clay Walker cut the song for his ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ album.  I always thought the song would make the perfect single, but it was never released to radio.  Here’s Clay’s version.
