Tip #1. How to Keep Your Fingernails Cleaner!

Before you begin your garden chores, scrape your fingernails over a bar of soap.  Why?  It makes clean-up simple and easy!  Even if you wear garden or work gloves, your nails still can get soil and dirt in them.  This way, the soap catches the dirt before going down into the fingernail.

Tip #2. Mark and Measure Your Trowel

If your trowel isn’t already marked with a depth guide, measure with a ruler ¼ inch,  ½ inch, 1 inch, etc., with a permanent marker so you’ll have it available and handy when you’re planting.

Tip #3  Bright Handled Garden Tools

If you purchase tools with bright orange or yellow handles, you’ll be able to see where you've left them!  You can also use bright neon tape to wrap around the tools handles for an easier find.
