There have been a lot of questions over the years concerning elements in 'The Simpsons' over the 22-year-old animated Fox classic starring Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. The one burning question hs always been, in which Springfield do the Simpsons actually live in? Springfield is one of the most common names for U.S. cities. Is it Illinois, (most popular guess), Massachusetts, Missouri, Ohio? Well, it's none of those because it's actually Springfield, Oregon.....that's right, Oregon!!

The show's creator, Matt Groening, has eluded to the question many times over the years and has even dropped a few hints. Groening revealed that one of his favorite shows growing up was "Father Knows Best" and that show took place in a town called Springfield. Groening wanted to believe 'that' Springfield was close to his hometown of Portland, Oregon.

When asked why he never mentioned it before, he said, "I don't want to ruin it for people, you know?" Anytime someone asked about a particular state, he would just say they were right. Now we can all rest a little easier with that burning issue behind us....wwwhhheeewww! See for yourself below.
