Sidewalk Park Coming to Downtown Evansville

This is going to be a great addition to the Downtown area! 

Today on Facebook, I saw that the Evansville Downtown Alliance, talked about a sidewalk park coming to 4th and Main St.

I think this will be a great addition, with all of the great restaurants down on Main st, this will be great, especially for all the surrounding businesses, for people who want to grab a bite to eat and enjoy some fresh air!

With grants received from the Southwest Indiana Assocation of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Evansville Redevelopment Commission the Downtown Alliance will be developing our first 'Sidewalk Park' to be installed in early September. Thank you to all our sponsors and grantors.

The Sidewalk Park will be on Main and 4th Streets and serving as additional seating, providing some stand-up tables for a quick lunch, and adding beauty to the block. The exact location will be directly in front of the Marlocon Condominiums...across the street from Honeybaked Ham. The image is a 'parklet' we looked to for inspiration. The Sidewalk Park will be built out by Wilde Horticultural Services. A simple rendering of our space can be found in the comments.

This will be the first of several public spaces to be developed as we continue to work on 'a Downtown Transformed.'
