‘Sesame Street’ Headed to the Big Screen!

It’s a sunny day, and Fox is sweeping the clouds away because they’re taking children’s television classic ‘Sesame Street’ to the big screen!
THR reports that director Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps banner are producing a big screen adaptation of the PBS show, which has been running since 1969. Starring Jim Henson creations such as Big Bird, his best pal Snuffleupagus, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, and best buds Bert and Ernie, ‘Sesame Street’ has been educating and enriching the lives of children for decades.
‘Sesame Street’ has a storied history of engaging children with colorful characters who help them learn and grow, focusing on fundamental skills like spelling and math, but it also packs a lot of heart, often teaching children how to be decent human beings with stories about sharing, caring, and friendship.
The show has already been used for two films: 1985′s classic ‘Follow That Bird,’ starring John Candy and Chevy Chase, in which Big Bird and friends head off on a cross-country adventure, and 1999′s The Adventures of ‘Elmo in Grouchland.’
Fox has so far offered no comment on this breaking news, but after the success of last year’s ‘The Muppets,’ bringing another Henson legacy back to the big screen seems like a no-brainer. There’s also a ‘Fraggle Rock’ movie in the works over at New Regency. It’s a big year for the Henson Workshop, indeed.
Now all we wanna know is: Can you tell us how to get to ‘Sesame Street’?
