The 10-day Mickey's Kingdom Community Build is set to begin September 14th, but construction crews have already been on site for the past several weeks laying the groundwork for what will eventually be the 20,000 square foot playground that will replace Kid's Kingdom as a destination for families to spend quality time together while enjoying the view of the Ohio River.

I drive past the build site nearly every day on my way between work and home, and recently decided to see how things were coming along. While there's not much to see right this minute, progress is being made, and you can really start to see and understand just how massive the new playground is going to be.

Organizers of the build are still in need of volunteers as the project will take a few thousand hands to finish. Even if you can only spare one hour over the course of the 10-day period, any little bit will help.
