Have you ever wondered how your favorite song came about? Now you have the chance to hear the story right from the songwriter's mouth!


Once again, 99.5 WKDQ is proud to sponsor the 7th annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters festival that will take place in Henderson, KY July 27th-30th!

This is where you will get to hear the stories how your favorite songs came about. From Alan Jackson's "Chattahoochee" to Brad Paisley's "Waiting on A Woman" then men and women who wrote this great songs will share their experiences on how hey came up with the song and the story behind it!

Sessions will be held at different venues in Henderson, KY. Tickets for single sessions and for the whole 3 days are available now HERE

Proceeds from the festival will benefit three local agencies in Henderson. The Gamma Tau Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha - a national service sorority, Friends of Audubon, & KYNDLE Education Foundation for the Imagination Library.

Over 30 different songwriters will take part in this year's festival. Don't miss your chance to hear the stories behind the songs!
