All your favorite country artists bring you Today's Best Country on WKDQ, but they are only part of the equation.  Many artists write their own songs, but some don't and others collaborate with the best writers in the business to do that.  Those songwriters are heading back to Henderson July 29th - August 1st for the Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival!

Over 30 songwriters will be playing in intimate rounds throughout the four-day festival at different venues in Henderson, plus there will be a workshop for aspiring songwriters, a day at the races, and more.

The festival was founded and is still coordinated by Kerry Kurt Phillips, the guy responsible for songs like Joe Diffie's "Pickup Man," Tim McGraw's "Down on The Farm," George Strait's "She Let Herself Go," George Jones's "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair" and many more!  He and his friends will entertain you, and give you the insight into these famous songs.

Tickets are now on sale, so get yours while they are still available.
