Rumors of Sam Hunt joining Carrie Underwood for her performance at the 2016 Grammys have been confirmed. The "Take Your Time" hitmaker and Underwood were one of three pairings announced on Wednesday.

Andra Day and Ellie Goulding will also share the Grammys stage, as will James Bay and Tori Kelly. All six artists are nominated. Hunt has two nominations, including one in the all-genre Best New Artist category. Underwood is nominated in the Best Country Solo Performance category for her song "Little Toy Guns." If she wins it would be her second straight in the category, and third over all in this category. To date Underwood has won seven Grammys.

While the songs each artist will perform have not been announced, a Hunt/Underwood pairing for her hit "Heartbeat" seems likely. Hunt adds harmonies to the version Underwood recorded for her Storyteller album. It's currently inside the Top 20 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

The performance will be a Grammy first for Hunt, but Underwood is a regular on the broadcast. Her most recent performance came in 2013 when she sang "Blown Away" in an enormous gown that lit up as she rose to the chorus. Little Big Town are the only other country act confirmed thus far. Chris Stapleton, Lee Ann Womack and Ashley Monroe also have multiple nominations.

The 2016 Grammys will take place on Feb. 15 at 8PM ET on CBS. Taste of Country will cover the show in depth, beginning with red carpet coverage.
