Road to the Race – The Evansville Tri-State Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Registration

Most of us have been affected by breast cancer. Whether you are like me and have had friends or family lose the battle or have fought the disease yourself, the little pink ribbon is more than just cute to you – it stands for courage, strength and prevention.
The Evansville Tri-State Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. According to the Centers for Disease control Indiana rates among the highest states in percentages of women who have developed the disease. Kentucky is within the second tier of high risk states.
Because of the high numbers associated with the disease in this area, it’s important that we as a community come together to raise both awareness for preventative measures and also funds for research and local resources to aid those who are fighting the battle and their families. The Race for the Cure® is the biggest area fundraiser that is held in honor of survivors, those with breast cancer, and those who have passed away from breast cancer. However, The Evansville Tri-State Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® also hosts a multitude of fundraising and awareness events throughout the summer – leading up to the event.

We at Townsquare Media are dedicated to spreading the word about prevention, these events and also details about race day. We are kicking off our Road to the Race series with one of the most basic but important things you need to know about the 2012 Race for the Cure® – registration as an individual or a team! Register online before July 31 to receive Early Bird pricing!

‘Sixty for Sixty’ Campaign for George Strait Falls Short
George Strait turns 61 years old TODAY! The "Sixty for Sixty" campaign to get George his 60th #1 single while he was still 60 years old didn't quite make it, "Give It All We Got Tonight" has only made it to #10. But, that's OK, there is no one like George Strait and there quite possibly never will be. Several, I mean tons, of artists made videos to try and urge fans to buy the single. It is very touching. Watch them give love and admiration to the king of country music.

This video may not have any real social significance and it's certainly not the most news worthy story of the day. However, with everything going on in the world today and on the nightly newscasts, sometimes we just need something to remind us that life is good and humanity can be a beautiful thing.

Every so often you see a video that makes you say, "no way he just did that." Have you ever heard of noodling?
