Springtime in the Tri-State means leaves returning to the trees, warmer temperatures, more sunshine, and those infamous orange barrels popping up on our highways and byways.

The first of what will surely be many road projects over the Spring and Summer will get underway March 4th as the next phase of patching and repaving the Lloyd Expressway (a.k.a. State Road 62) between Rosenberger Avenue and the Vanderburgh-Posey County line gets underway.

If you recall, similar work on this same stretch and beyond toward Mt. Vernon took place last year often restricting traffic to one lane. Couple that with USI traffic, and moving through that area was often slow going.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, paving crews "will close the westbound driving lane of S.R. 62 from Boehne Camp Road to Schutte Road, the westbound passing lane from Rosenberger Avenue to Schutte Road and Schutte Road to the Posey/Vanderburgh County line for concrete patching work. Lane restrictions will be in place around the clock with lanes restricted to 15 feet."

If this is a stretch of road you travel frequently, set a reminder on your phone for March 4th so you remember to avoid it if you can.
