If your kids are like mine, they think SpongeBob Squarepants is the bomb and watching just a little bit of the show can give parents a headache and can dampen the brain power of preschoolers'. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics, the popular Nickelodeon show's fast pace can harm a child's cognitive development. The University of Virginia department of psychology conducted a study on three groups of four-year-olds. One group got nine minutes of SpongeBob, another group got nine minutes of a slower paced kid's show and the third group spent nine minutes drawing and coloring with crayons. After the nine minutes, each group was given four tests to evaluate brain function and guess which group scored the lowest?? That's right......THE SPONGEBOB GROUP..DING, DING DING!

Nickelodeon wasted no time in telling CNN that SpongeBob is targeted to six to 11 year-olds, not preschool age children who were the ones that took part in the study. SpongeBob has been challenged before, just last month 'Fox & Friends' anchors Steve Doocy ans Gretchen Carlson took issue with the series saying they believe it promotes global warming hysteria.....now THAT'S funny! What do you think? Below, you can watch a little SpongeBob and numb your mind.
