October 9, 2012 This Saturday night, the Evansville Icemen begin their season at The Ford Center! Now a part of the ECHL, a league associated with the NHL, the Icemen action will be bigger than ever. At the home opener, country star, Bucky Covington will perform the National Anthem and do a special meet and greet. I spoke to him this week about it.

May 17, 2012 The Evansville Icemen announced today in the first off-season press conference that the Icemen will be moving up to the ECHL (East Coast Hockey league) for the 2012-2013 season that begins in October. The annoucement was made with Icemen owner Ron Geary and ECHL Commissioner Brian McKenna. This is a big step up for the Icemen both in terms of exposure and level of play.

The atmosphere of the the Ford Center alone is enough to show you a good time while the Icemen play their brand of smash-mouth hockey. February 10, 2012 This week, during Youth Jersey Night at the Evansville Icemen game, WKDQ hosted a dance contest on the ice during intermission. Contestants were instructed to do the hottest dance right now, "The Wobble." Little did I know that our own Jon Prell was a master at wobbling.
February 10, 2012 The Evansville Icemen will be in action tonight against Dayton at 7:15pm. It is also Guns & Hoses night and the Icemen will be wearing special Guns & Hoses jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game with the proceeds to benefit '911 Gives Hope'. The Guns & Hoses charity boxing event will be April 21st at the Ford Center. Tickets on sale now.
February 9, 2012 Wednesday night was another fun night at the Ford Center with the Evansville Icemen. The first 1000 kids through the door got a free youth jersey, and besides an exciting game, the fans were also treated to a dance contest, chuck-a-puck, the Kiss Cam, and more
I've never been to an Evansville Icemen Hockey game before, or any hockey game for that matter. Nevertheless, I sure had a lot of fun! I just got a new camera, so I was able to take some better pictures. Check out my experience for yourself in the Gallery below.
