If you're like me, you have been seeing a lot of your Facebook friends sharing a post about actor, writer, and director, Tyler Perry giving away money on Facebook. If you are one of the ones who actually shared the post...allow me to be the bearer of bad news.

Tyler Perry, also known as Madea, is not giving away a ton of money to anyone who likes, shares, and comments on posts that are circulating on social media. Don't fall for these things! If you were to just take the time to click on the video in these posts, you will see that Tyler Perry doesn't even mention giving away money. In fact, all he is talking about in these videos are some of his upcoming movie and TV projects. If you don't believe me, take it from the man himself!

Seriously, save yourself the embarrassment and disappointment, and don't fall for scams like this. Do your research. If it seems too good to be true, chances are, it is. And if you see someone sharing a post like that, share this blog with them, that way you don't have to be the "bad guy," instead, they will be mad at me for crushing their hopes at winning money.

Tyler Perry giveaway scams aren't the only ones on social media. Most celebrities' social media profiles will have a blue check mark next to their name. That check mark means that is the actual person, any other profile is FAKE. It's important to know that, so that you don't fall for false information, or a potential scam. The Tri-State Better Business Bureau took to Twitter recently to give you a little bit of advice when it comes to celebrity impostors and scams. Hopefully this helps you!
