Netflix has been on a roll with great original content. One of their newest shows actually involves country music. The Ranch is a Netflix Original that my friend told me that I needed to watch. I finally did, and I really enjoyed it.

The show is about a washed up wanna-be quarterback, played by Ashton Kutcher, returning home to his family's ranch as a last resort. There he works on rekindling his relationship with his bitter father, played by the great Sam Elliot. While home his antics with his brother are what made the show as funny as it is. His brother is played by That 70's Show co-star, Danny Masterson.

The show was a bit cheesy at first, but it lures you in with the character development. The thing that I found cool about this show is at the end of every episode there is a country song that kind of sums up what that episode is about. Such artists featured in the show include: Luke Bryan, Dylan Scott, Travis Tritt, Love and Theft, and Kacey Musgraves.

If you are in the market for a new comedy, this is one that you may love. I must warn you, while this show is centered around family ties, it is not for everyone in the family due to the language. The Ranch gets my vote as a binge-worthy Netflix show!

Watch the trailer here, but be warned that there is language not suitable for children NSFW:
