This morning, folks across the tristate woke to several inches of snow and closings. And though local road crews are working around the clock to clear roads, we won't have much time to recover.

We can expect another winter storm this Thursday and Friday and the National Weather Service is predicting substantial accumulations of ice and snow, although Keith Todd, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet information officer explained, "The salt being spread for this event is expected to help highway crews get a  head start on the next winter blast.  It will leave salt residue on the pavement that will essentially provide pre-treating for the next round of winter precipitation in the forecast for Thursday and Friday."

Here's the Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service.

A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION AND STRONG WINDS TO THE REGION THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. AT THIS TIME...THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR SUBSTANTIAL ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE
AND SNOW.
