The three inches Mother Nature dumped on my home yesterday is pretty but it's making travel disastrous. People all over the tri-state are getting stuck and causing accidents because of their absolute need to get out and do things that aren't necessary. (Yes, that is sarcasm!)

Most schools are out on break this Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. But, Mama isn't done yet. It's looking like she has some big plans for our Monday and Tuesday commute.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

A burst of accumulating snow is expected as a storm system and Arctic cold front dive southeast through the region Monday into Monday night.

Wind chills will fall into the 5 below zero to 15 below zero range Monday night, and into the zero to 10 below zero range Tuesday night.

As the church lady would say, 'well, isn't that special...' Stay tuned for weather updates and the latest closing information!
