National Coffee Day was a Happy One!

You have no idea how happy and excited I was yesterday when I found out that it was National Coffee Day. Coffee rates up there pretty high on my list next to drinking water.

After reading a blog on our website by our own Dave Fields about National Coffee Day, and some businesses offering free cups of coffee, I decided I had to drive to the nearest spot that was offering one of my favorite beverages.

The closest location offering a free cup of coffee was our local McDonald’s in Newburgh.   I arrived there as Mcfast as I could, parked the car and walked inside and asked the server if they were giving away FREE coffee. It was National Coffee Day. She told me she didn’t think they were participating and then turned to ask someone else working there.  That person, too, didn’t know anything about National Coffee Day.  (oh, heavens, no!) The manager walks up and the server asks him if he had heard anything about giving away free coffee. It was National Coffee Day!  He said he remembered hearing about it, but, wasn’t sure if their location was participating. Within seconds, he had made a quick decision and told the server to go ahead and give me a free cup of coffee!  After hearing the great news, my facial expression turned into a super McHappy one! (I still would have purchased some coffee if they weren’t a participating location).

I want to thank all the friendly and helpful servers including Kelsea & Jamie, and Manager Antonio for my delicious free cup of coffee!  You guys rock!
