Mardi Gras, also known as Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday”) or Shrove Tuesday, is the last day of feasting before Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.

Do you have any Mardi Gras plans? You better get to planning it because it is just around the corner; I personally would love to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I think that would be the best time, EVER! Since, my funds are so tight right now that is completely out of the question. You can still get the awesome food they will have in New Orleans right here in Evansville.

Marigold Bar is having Mardi Gras food from February 8th to the 12th. They will be having hot crawl fish, jambalaya, red beans and rice. All of the food will be freshly cooked daily! Mardi Gras Franklin Street Crawl
The Franklin Street Association is throwing “Mardi Gras Franklin Street Crawl” on February 8th. If you haven’t done a Franklin Street Crawl NOW is the time!!!
From the Mardi Gras Franklin Street Crawl Facebook Event page – “Support local by participating in the first annual Franklin Street Mardi Gras crawl! All participating businesses will have their own custom beads you can earn as well as prizes/gift cards along the way! Scents of crawfish and gumbo and southern rooted music will fill our streets. A trolley will be provided for convenient transportation. This event is hosted by the Franklin Street Events Association which is a non-profit organization. “
You will be able to walk up and down Franklin street like it is the fall festival, go into these bars and party your night away! Sounds fun right?

Starting February 8th through the 12th, they will have shrimp and sausage gumbo, red beans and rice, Creole bbq shrimp, Cajon cheese fries, Cajon bread pudding with rum sauce and more. Or does it??? ;-) Ok, I know it would appear that I, if I'm not the cat lady NOW, I am well on my way. In the past year, I have become very in tune with cats and all of their personalities. Maybe that's why I love them so much and they, in turn, are drawn to me. lol

May 18, 2013 12:00 PM I have had my fair share of run ins with deer. Living in the country, it's just a way of life. You must, during the early morning hours and evening/night hours, constantly be on alert and have your eyes scanning the sides of the road.
Once, on a trip back to Indiana from Tennessee, a deer came inches away from slamming through the passenger side window of my car, injuring my son. Luckily, the deer hit the front of the windshield and rolled off the hood of the car. But in the case of this bus, it came right through the window and went crazy!!
