Maggie Rose has scored herself a big prize, thanks to her love of football. Her song 'Get Ya Game On,' which she wrote for the Comcast SportsNet's coverage of the Redskin's 2013 season, has earned an Emmy.

Rose grew up rooting for the Redskins at their games, so she was honored to be asked to write the song and film the music video. And her hard work paid off, because the song has since earned her some big recognition. Rose recently got the call that she was nominated by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences -- and she couldn't believe it.

This is the very first award Rose has been nominated for as a country artist.

"I remember thinking, 'This is so cool, but I'm a country artist,'" she tells Rolling Stone Country. "I didn't dream an Emmy would be the first award I'd be nominated for! It's such an honor."

Unfortunately, Rose's No. 1 love (music) came in the way of her attending the ceremony, as she had prior obligations to play a festival in Georgia. Instead, the songstress sent her proud parents to attend for her.

"I was on stage when the [Emmy] announcement was made," Rose explains. "I was nervous during the show, knowing I'd find out as soon as I got off stage what the results were. And I got a text from my mom and dad with a picture of them holding the Emmy. It was so cute -- they had such huge smiles."

Now that she's won an Emmy, she's definitely not stopping her support of the Redskins and NFL. Rose has already shot the promo video for the upcoming season and is busy recording a new album!
