Maddie and Tae's new single, "Fly," is a far cry from their previous hit, "Girl in a Country Song," and the videos are also vastly different. The video for "Fly" embodies everything the empowering song is about — always following your dreams.

The video is emotional and beautiful, full of stunning visuals throughout. It starts with a young girl climbing a ladder, metaphorically referring to reaching for your dreams. Meanwhile, the duo are sitting down together, penning words in a journal (the song, perhaps?). Maddie Marlow and Tae Dye co-wrote the song along with Tiffany Vartanyan.

“We were both so scared when we came to Nashville to chase this dream," Marlow explains in a press release. "How many days did I look out the window and want to run home 'cause the world was so big and things were going wrong? But I also knew if I ran away, my dream would never happen. It was being brave when I didn’t even know why or how that somehow brought us to here, which is exactly why we wrote the song.”

They perform the song throughout much of the video, with other inspiring visuals in between. Butterflies flying, babies playing and kids climbing ladders and ropes bring the lyrics to the ballad to life in a beautiful way.

"So keep on climbing, though the ground might shake / Just keep on reaching though the limb might break / We’ve come this far, don’t you be scared now / 'Cause you can learn to fly on the way down," the duo sing.

The two wanted to make the video memorable, and it looks like they've succeeded.

“Video is so important,” Dye says. “With video, you can expand what a song means, a larger frame or let people see it in a bigger way. For "Fly," it was something dreamier to inspire you when things are difficult.”
