Love and Theft’s Eric Gunderson and Wife Expecting First Child Next Summer

Love and Theft‘s Eric Gunderson is getting ready for fatherhood! Gunderson and his wife, Emily, are expecting a baby on May 18, 2013. The new arrival will be a first child for the couple, who will celebrate three years of marriage in April.
Gunderson is currently 13 weeks pregnant and “loving every minute of it,” she reveals exclusively to Taste of Country. “I’m beyond excited to share another journey through life with my best friend and husband,” she gushes. “I pray not only for a healthy baby, but for a baby that is as talented in music as his sweet and handsome father!”
“I’m pretty excited,” adds the proud father-to-be, who couldn’t wait to share the news with us. “I’ve wanted to be a father forever, and now I feel like we’re in a place in our career where it won’t be the most nerve-wracking thing ever. I feel like I can support a family now. It will be good. We’re really excited.”
The parents-to-be will have to wait another few weeks to find out the gender of the baby on board, but they will be ecstatic with whatever they get — boy or girl. “Obviously, I’m just hoping for a healthy baby,” notes the Love and Theft singer. “But I was the oldest in my family and I was a boy… I think it was cool for my sister to always have an older brother. I think I’d like to have a boy first and then a little girl, but I’ll take whatever I get [laughs]!”
While he eagerly awaits his little one’s due date, Gunderson can put his focus into his new musical arrival — the duo’s brand new single, ‘Runnin’ Out of Air.’ The tune just impacted country radio, and the new video is expected to hit the country television networks in the coming weeks. The single is the second release from Love and Theft’s new self-titled album, and follows their chart-topping hit ‘Angel Eyes.’
