Little Big Town took the stage of the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night (Feb. 15) to perform "Girl Crush" for fans from across all genres.

Ryan Seacrest introduced the band's breathtaking performance and said it would be a delivery "you've never heard or seen before." As the camera panned the stage, the quartet was shown dressed all in black on what appeared to be a white stage with the detailing of a clock surrounded by string players.

The song's opening included a haunting violin feature making the band's performance of "Girl Crush" truly unlike anything fans have witnessed before. The strings soared at the most poignant moments, but never overshadowed Karen Fairchild's impressive vocals.

While the white stage accentuated Little Big Town's all black attire, it was
the haunting string accompaniment coupled with the band's impeccable harmonies that left the greatest mark. One of the most talked about songs of 2015, "Girl Crush" may go on to be one of the most memorable country performances of the 2016 Grammy Awards.

The celebrated vocal harmony quartet have had the biggest year of their career, with "Girl Crush" overcoming some early reluctance at country radio to become one of the biggest breakout singles in country music history, shattering decades-old records for the longest run at the top of the country charts.

The group were nominated in multiple categories at the 58th annual Grammys; in addition to a nod for Best Country Album for Pain Killer, they won Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and "Girl Crush" was also nominated in the all-genre category of Song of the Year.
