Lingerie Football League Fired Referees Now Working NFL Games — You’ll Never Guess Why
As the labor dispute between the NFL and the referees’ union continues, criticism of the replacement officials has been going on for weeks and has only gotten louder after a blown call on ‘Monday Night Football’ gave Seattle a 14-12 win over Green Bay.
How bad have things gotten for the NFL?
So bad that the Lingerie Football League felt the need to defend the integrity of its on-field product by pointing out that some crews currently working NFL games were actually fired by the Lingerie League for incompetence. You got that? These referees weren’t good enough to handle Lingerie Football League games, but are acceptable in the multi-billion dollar world of the NFL.
In a statement released late Monday night, LFL Commissioner Mitchell Mortaza said:
Because of the LFL’s perception it is that much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent, not only for the credibility of our game but to keep our athletes safer. Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with with a couple crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.
We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonight’s event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games.
So say what you want about lingerie football—at least they can get the calls right.

A massive tornado touched down just south of Oklahoma City on Monday, killing dozens.
At least seven of those killed were students at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore. The twister, which measured 2 miles at one point, has been given a preliminary classification of an EF-4 tornado (winds of 166 to 200 mph), according to weather officials.
