Reitz High School grad and current IU swimmer Lilly King's road to gold in this summer's Olympics just got a bit easier!

Her main competitor Russian swimmer Yulia Efimova was declared ineligible for the Olympics on Monday. Efimova who had previously served a doping ban is not able to complete in this summer's Olympics due to a partial ban of Russian athletes.

Efimova is the reigning world champion in the 100-meter breaststroke, which is the specialty of King, who won the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1 minute, 5.20 seconds. That was the fastest time in the world so far this year.

According to the Associate Press, Efimova’s agent has told Russian media that she would appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Lilly was also picked to win Gold by Sports Illustrated.
