By now, I am sure that you have heard all about the Tide Pod Challenge. It has caused quite the uproar, and now lawmakers are looking to do something about it. According to some lawmakers, these Tide Pods "look like candies" and "they might as well say 'bite me' on them."

The argument here is that they look "appetizing" to some folks ant that Tide should make them look less like candy. If you were to ask me, it isn't a problem with Tide. It's a common sense thing. I mean dog poo looks like a candy bar, but I am not going to pick it up and eat it! That's the thing with common sense- it's not so common nowadays.

The fact is that, the majority of people know better than to indulge in eating Tide Pods. However, there are some who think it is funny to take part in the challenge. People, these things are clearly not meant for consumption. According to Time, there were thirty-nine reports of teenagers intentionally misusing laundry pods came in during the first 15 days of 2018 alone. It has to stop. The question here is this: if Tide were to change the way these pods look, would that stop someone from attempting to eat them? It might look less appealing to young children who might mistake them for candy of some sort, however for the teenagers and young adults attempting the Tide Pod Challenge, it's not a matter of them looking appetizing, it is a matter of the people not using their heads. Do. Not. Eat. Tide. Pods.
