Lady Antebellum Owe Miranda Lambert One for New Single ‘Downtown’
Lady Antebellum aren’t the only ones who had their eyes on the song ‘Downtown,’ their new single.
In a radio interview with WYCD, Lady A leading lady Hillary Scott shared the interesting story of how Miranda Lambert initially had dibs on the funky country tune, but lifted her hold on ‘Downtown’ once word hit the street that the Grammy Award-winning trio wanted to include the song on their forthcoming album.
“It was one of those songs that we heard and fell in love with and then found out that someone else had that song on hold,” Scott recalls. “That someone was actually a girl by the name of Miranda Lambert, who I consider a good friend.”
Lambert obliged the trio’s request to cut the song. “She very very selflessly said ‘let Lady A have it,’ so we owe her a huge thank you,” says Scott.
“She really went above and beyond, and that’s what you find in our amazing genre of country music,” shares the expecting mother. “That the artists really do love each other and support one another.”
The showdown for ‘Downtown’ isn’t the first tale of two country acts who competed for the same song. Earlier this year, Jason Aldean admitted that he “dug” Luke Bryan‘s ‘Drunk on You,’ but ultimately passed on the song that would eventually become his tattoo buddy‘s summer of 2012 No. 1 smash.
‘Downtown’ is the first radio offering from Lady Antebellum’ fourth studio album, which is expected to be released later this year. The trio will no doubt perform the already fan-favorite tune when they appear as a headliner at the first-ever Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain this June.

Deer Goes Crazy After Crashing Into a Bus
May 18, 2013 12:00 PM I have had my fair share of run ins with deer. Living in the country, it's just a way of life. You must, during the early morning hours and evening/night hours, constantly be on alert and have your eyes scanning the sides of the road.
Once, on a trip back to Indiana from Tennessee, a deer came inches away from slamming through the passenger side window of my car, injuring my son. Luckily, the deer hit the front of the windshield and rolled off the hood of the car. But in the case of this bus, it came right through the window and went crazy!!
