-Keith Todd, Ky Transportation Cabinet

Another round of snow started moving across the region around 3:00 a.m., CST.  Crews got a big boost in their snow-fighting efforts from the sunshine on Tuesday afternoon.  The sun helped to melt the near record snowfall we received on Monday from most road surfaces and help to warm pavement temperatures ahead of this next wave of snow.

While many counties that had finished their rounds on Tuesday kept minimal crews overnight to repair equipment and be available for immediate call out, all crews expect to be to full strength by about 5:00 a.m., as additional personnel report in.
