-Keith Todd, Ky Transportation Cabinet

No new snowfall. Temperatures across the district have fallen to as low as 0. Counties are focusing on A routes and Parkways. Crews are still trying to plow snow and clear intersections, turn lanes, and crossovers. Snow is still plowable even with the single digit temperatures.  Ohio County reported a plow ran off into the median on the Natcher Parkway during the night.

Caldwell County reported some freezing fog.  The hazard from freezing fog is fairly low because roadways are still mostly snow covered.  However, due to the cold temperatures there is a potential for the fog to freeze on windshields as vehicles drive through it.  Extra caution is required when encountering fog at these low temperatures.

While most "A" Snow Priority Routes had greatly improved driving conditions in the afternoon hours on Monday, the depth of the snow and plow windrows at intersections still creates plenty of opportunity to get stuck, even for vehicles with substantial ground clearance.

Snow accumulations across the region are in the 8 to 10 inch range.

We continue our request that everyone avoid unnecessary travel.
