We all know about Christmas it's the "most wonderful time of the year" as the song says.  Typically this time of year is filled with joy, and colorful lights, and stories of a jolly man in a red suit, but have you heard of Krampus?

Krampus is the dark side to Christmas. Why worry about Santa watching you, when you should worry that Krampus is going to get you?

According to Smithsonian Mag, Krampus is the anti-Santa. The yin to Santa's yang if you will. St. Nick may punish bad kids by giving them coal, but Krampus?  Krampus does much worse to bad kids.

Krampus himself historically comes around the night of December 5, tagging along with St. Nicholas. He visits houses all night with his saintly pal. While St. Nick is on hand to put candy in the shoes of good kids and birch twigs in the shoes of the bad, Krampus’ particular specialty is punishing naughty children. Legend has it that throughout the Christmas season, misbehaved kids are beaten with birch branches or can disappear, stuffed into Krampus’ sack and hauled off to his lair to be tortured or eaten.

The story of Krampus actually originates in Europe, but he's finally gotten so popular that his story has spread across the pond to the U.S.  And now Krampus is getting even more firghtning, he's coming to Indiana!

Fear Fair in Seymour Indiana is one of the many midwestern haunted houses hosting Krampus this year. For two nights only you can go and get terrified walking through the holiday themed haunted house.

It will actually be in several cities on December 8th and 9th, the closest cities to the tri-state are Seymour, Indiana (it's a little less than 3 hours from here), it's also coming to Nashville, Tennesee. If you want to go to this haunted house be sure to get your tickets early.  Get all the info and get your tickets here!
