It seems you can't keep anything from Kimberly Perry. The singer and part-time sleuth went so far as to start prying -- on the day her fiancé J.P. Arencibia of the Texas Rangers was set to propose.

The Band Perry vocalist does not like surprises, but luckily, she didn't completely ruin her fairytale proposal in October of last year.

Arencibia planned to pop the question on the Perry family property in Greenville, Tenn. and of course opted to include the family. He added family heirlooms to make the day even more special.

Perry knew something was up, though, since her family can't seem to keep anything from her. "I knew it was coming soon. I could tell that the family started to act funny the second half of the day," she told CMT Radio Live's Cody Alan (quote via CMT).

Her brother and bandmate Reid jumped in to make it clear it wasn't all their fault. "She was prying a little. I mean, she doesn't let surprises happen," he stated.

Perry did a lot of thinking to try and figure out exactly what her fiancé and family were up to. She skillfully used her iPhone to find out if Arencibia was exactly where he said he was. "He told me he that he was gonna be on a plane, and he was coming to Greenville," she said. "We were gonna pick him up at midnight ... and I just didn't quite buy it. So I sent him a text message ... and when it goes through blue, I knew the phone was on, and I was like, 'Ah, this is happening tonight!'"

"See? It's just not fun! We don't even try anymore. We're just gonna give her her birthday gift unwrapped," brother Neil joked.

The happy couple is said to be wanting to tie the knot this summer. Maybe Kimberly should ask for her wedding presents unwrapped, too.
