The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 2 Snow and Ice Team has put crews on alert for a round of snow that is expected to sweep through the region in the early hours of Friday morning.

The winter system is expected to hit parts of the region with about ½ inch of snow accumulation. Crews will be prepared to spread salt starting about 4:00 a.m., to help prepare for the morning commute.

The District 2 Snow & Ice Team is also watching a snow event that is expected to arrive Sunday night into Monday morning. That event could bring 1 to 3 inches or more to parts of the region.

Motorists are encouraged to carefully monitor the forecast for updates and be alert for changing road conditions as snow moves through. Highway crews will be addapting their battle plan as the forecast for Sunday and Monday firm up.
