Kenny Chesney made an appearance on the Ellen show, but it wasn’t just to promote his new album. It was to give one lucky girl, Macey, the surprise of a lifetime: an invite to the CMA Awards.

Ellen DeGeneres has learned that second to presidents, Macey’s a big fan of country music, and even sent her to the Country Stampede in Kansas, where she got to meet Dierks Bentley. But that was nothing compared to what DeGeneres had up her sleeve. Chesney was performing on the show, and DeGeneres asked Macey to sing a few lines from her favorite of his tunes, “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” While she serenaded the audience, Chesney snuck up behind her and waited until she noticed he was there.

Rather than being in shock, Macey shot up and gave Chesney a hug, beaming. Chesney took a seat with the cutie, praised her love of music and asked her if she and her family would like to come to the CMA Awards next week. Her chipper response?

“Sure!” Macey said, giving Chesney another hug.

By now, Macey is used to being in front of others and meeting famous people. She not only got to meet Bentley at the Stampede and impress him by answering some unique presidential trivia, but she got to go onstage with him during his performance, shown in the montage from the experience.

Chesney just released a new record titled Cosmic Hallelujah, a much-anticipated album with some unique elements, including a collaboration with Pink and an ambitious pop-influenced tune called "Rich and Miserable." The album was pushed back a few months and even underwent a name change, coming out with a bit of a different vibe than originally planned, but Chesney has said he is pleased with the result.

“The album I’m releasing now has a lot of what made Some Town Somewhere capture the essential part of who the No Shoes Nation is, but really takes the your-life-is-now piece of The Big Revival and expands it,” he explains.
