When Kellie Pickler is on stage, she's all celebrity. But behind the scenes, the former 'American Idol' star is just a down-home southern gal. Around her house, she even goes by her real, married name: Kellie Jacobs.

In a recent interview with Parade, Pickler opened up about how she tries to keep her home life and her work life separate. The '100 Proof' hitmaker is so serious about being herself around the house that she doesn't even display her awards.

“If you were to come to our house, you would never know what we do for a living. We have guitars and musical instruments all around the house because my husband [Kyle Jacobs] is a music producer and songwriter, so we have guitars everywhere," she describes. "But we don’t have plaques or trophies. I don’t have one picture from one show in our house. I keep that separate. When I walk in my door, when I’m at home, I’m not Kellie Pickler anymore; I’m Kellie Jacobs.”

Although Pickler isn't all about displaying her accolades, her grandpfather sure is. The country singer was raised by her grandparents since age 12 and she continues to be very close to them. So when her grandfather asked for her Mirror Ball Trophy from winning 'Dancing With the Stars,' she couldn't help but oblige.

"My grandpa told me that if I didn’t do 'Dancing With the Stars,' I wouldn’t be his favorite grandchild anymore, but I’m his only grandchild, his only granddaughter, so it’s a joke we have with each other," Pickler explains. "But he wanted the Mirror Ball Trophy, so I said, ‘Alright grandpa, if I win the trophy, it’s yours.’ He was willing to lend it to the Hall of Fame for one year, then he wants it back on his nightstand!"

She's just Kellie Jacobs at heart, but Pickler still has her eyes on her country music career. She recently released a new music video for 'Someone, Somewhere Tonight' with 'DWTS' partner Derek Hough, and she has a new album on the way soon.

“I’ve been in the studio a lot and writing a lot," she reveals. "I’ve been writing songs with a more traditional sound. I’m really exciting about it. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it.”
