Keep Evansville Beautiful is launching a new educational program called Green Teen Council and they are looking for Teens for the program!

The mission of the Green Teen Council is to establish a youth-based, student-led advisory council for environmental protection and beautification in Evansville, and to empower students to make a positive change in their community.

The members of the Green Teen Council will collaborate to develop and implement sustainability projects throughout the year that centers around the three focuses of Keep Evansville Beautiful: recycling, litter abatement, and beautification. The students will be responsible for the entire project, from beginning to end. At Keep Evansville Beautiful, we believe that encouraging environmental awareness and protection among grade students is essential in creating a sustainable community.

Interested students will need to apply to become a member of the Green Tenn Council. The Program is open to any student who is enrolled and will be in grade 6-12 during the 2017-2018 school year. There are a couple of restrictions though; students must maintain a 2.0 GPA and a good disciplinary standing, i.e. no suspensions or expulsions.

Keep Evansville Beautiful needs your help to educate and empower the future generation, so that environmental awareness and protection will become the norm, creating a sustainable community. Please share this information and encourage local youth to “Go Green!”
