According to a new study, preschool kids aren't running around on the playground in periods of "free play" very much these days.Instead, they're grinding away in the classroom for two reasons -- academics and safety.

Parents want their kids to have a headstart with their reading and writing skills. Of course, kids running around on a playground aren't getting better at math, are they? And, parents and administrators are also afraid of injuries. Are you kidding me???? Some of my favorite scars are from the playground.

When you were a little kid, how much of your time was spent just goofing off and running around? What was your favorite activity on the play ground? Or at home?
