This morning on Jon and Leslie in the Morning, we talked about it being National Men Make Dinner Day. The rules are as follows:

  • Men (especially those who don't normally cook make a nice dinner for their families
  • It can't be grilled or BBQed
  • They can't order take-out
  • They must clean up all the dishes and put them away

Off mic, Jon made the comment that he makes dinner all the time for his wife - in fact, he made something special last night. Take a listen below!

So, for all you men who are cooking tonight but are clueless on what to do, here's a little help. Make this recipe!

Chicken and Rice

What You'll Need

  • 1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

How to Make It

  1. Preheat oven 375°F.
  2. Spray 2-quart (9 1/2 x 11") glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. Stir the mushroom soup, water, paprika and black pepper together in a mixing bowl.
  4. Bake at 375°F. for 45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the rice is tender.
  5. During this time open up a can or steam bag of your favorite vegetables and pop into microwave.
  6. Stir rice, let stand for 10 minutes.
  7. Pour your significant other her favorite beverage. (wine??)
  8. Serve wearing your "special" outfit.
  9. Clean up dishes.
  10. Give your significant other a kiss.
  11. Finish the dishes.
  12. Massage her feet.
