I spend our mornings talking to YOU and I love it when YOU talk back. Whether you call us, text, email, message or comment - I LOVE IT!  I will always highlight some of my favorite listener text feedback. Check it out; it could be YOU!

This morning, I asked you to tell me about YOUR experiences and rules in regard to teenagers/kids and smartphones. I need your help with a 'texting after bedtime' problem I'm having with my twelve year old son. Here is what YOU had to say.....

Marion, KY: First and foremost..if u think they are up to something, they are. Be aggressive mom...if you don't keep a hold on his use or misuse of his phone no one else will. Having a cell phone comes with a major responsibility that most kids aren't ready for when they get them. Neither of my kids have phones yet for this reason. You are the mom be the mom and take control! Leslie - (Boy, you gave me the business!! Something I think I needed. I LOVE your response! You are exactly right. I need to be the MOM to heck with trying to trust. I need to protect him from himself and others. :-)

Evansville, IN: My rule was always. As long as you live with me I have and WILL go thru your room, phone at any time! I will at all times have passwords to ANYTHING you have, phone, Facebook, etc. And phones were plugged in in kitchen!

Loogootee, IN: Just wait till the lil girls are sending naked selfies at 11. It gets worse. Then you have child porn on your phone as its registered in your name. I ve had 5 boys living in my house from 22-11 yrs old. I hate cellphones Glad you liked my comment. Have now had to start paying $10 per phone to track our sons. Which is a rachet and could possibly be cyber stalking. One son down married with kids 4 to go. If you take their phone away and can t trust them it punishes the parents. As they are always able to borrow a phone from a friend. Then we can t track where they are or who they are with.

Dale, IN: The way I feel is if a teenager has a smart phone it stays under parental supervision because of all the freaks out in this world. If they need a phone outside of home get them a cheap phone with no camera or internet use. Call and text only.

Owensboro, KY: My daughter is 16, we have a charging table in our bed room and she has to plug her phone up at 930 , even on weekends. Also we have her password to keep aware of all conversations.

Evansville, IN: My son does the exact same thing. Phone was taken away for two weeks because of it. Was a strict rule no Twitter and he has it all! Plus the attitude. ...uggg. but he's a honor roll student catch 22! The joy of a teenager in this day in age. But ya its a necessity with after school and mom and dad working. I get u Leslie!

Henderson, KY - My kids are 11 and 9- they have passcodes- but I have the codes at all times- if I ever don't have access when I pick it up- they lose it for a month. And for the instagram- I have his instagram account on my phone- as if it is mine- so I can read all their messages whenever they get them- and for 11 years old- I am shocked what I read from children his age...
