Jerry Sandusky Found Guilty On 45 Counts of Child Sex Abuse

Former Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky was found guilty of 45 child sex abuse charges on Friday, the jury reaching a verdict after a two-week trial.
CBS News reported that the 68-year-old Sandusky showed little emotion as the verdict was read and that the judge ordered him to be taken to the county jail to await sentencing, which will take place in about three months.
Sandusky was found guilty on 45 out of 48 charges brought against him. He faces the strong possibility of life in prison.
During the trial, jurors heard the testimony of eight men who said they were abused by the former coach. They also heard testimony of witnesses who spoke of two other alleged victims.
Sandusky maintained his innocence throughout the trial.
The former coach originally faced 52 counts of abuse charges, but the judge dropped four during the trial.
In reaction to the verdict, Penn State released a written statement, in which university officials said, “No verdict can undo the pain and suffering caused by Mr. Sandusky, but we do hope this judgment helps the victims and their families along their path to healing.”
