Is A ‘Mohawk’ Haircut Appropriate For A 10-Year-Old [Poll]

I have a dilemma that I am going to throw out to you for some help. Our kids tend to have a much different idea of what is 'cool' than we do, especially when it comes to self-expression. My ten-year-old son Ethan has always been infatuated with the 'mohawk' haircut and I have always told him no way. His mother and I are divorced and she and I do not speak very often unless there is an issue with the kids and she is well aware of how I feel about the 'mohawk' on kids.

Needless to say, the other day she sent me a picture of his new haircut and it is, of course, a 'mohawk' and I was not happy to say the least, mainly because it was done by his older brother without my knowledge, which I'm sure was by design.

I saw the new 'do' yesterday and have had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach ever since. The reviews at school are mixed and I am not completely convinced he is as happy about it now as he was at the prospect of getting the haircut.

Kids don't always know what is best for them and sometimes they put themselves in a stuation to stand out from the crowd...and that is not always a good thing. A little help would be appreciated.
