In the state of Indiana, this week is Severe Weather Preparedness week and WKDQ along with the Indiana Broadcasters Association are working on making sure all alert systems are working properly.

Today WKDQ and other state agencies will conduct a statewide TOR EAS Code test (tornado warning) and test communication systems at 9:15 a.m. and 6:35 p.m. CT.

You will hear the EAS (Emergency Alert System) play over the radio and instructions on what to do if there were a real weather emergency.

This week is also a good week to make sure you have severe weather plans for your home. Do you know where to go? Do you have a plan of action?
