Sometimes it can be easy to hear only the bad news and forget that there's good in the world.  Stories like this one give me hope, and make me thankful there are people in the world like Officer Brian Bishop.

This story is definitely one for the books. It Takes a Village Canine Rescue posted it to their page, and I had to share it with you.

Thank you Brian Bishop at LawMan Security & Consulting for donating $300 to pay for Ruger's wheelchair! Ruger was shot while his former owner was shooting at police officers. Officer Bishop is a K-9 officer who rushed Ruger to the vet after a bullet became embedded in Ruger's spine. The Knox County Sheriff (Vincennes) paid for Ruger's vet bills and then rescuers reached out to us for help. Ruger is paralyzed in his back legs. We are going to continue Ruger's recovery with water therapy at East Side Animal Hospital. Officer Bishop stopped by ITV today to say hi to the dog he saved and pay for his wheelchair. If you would also like to help with Ruger's therapy, please donate online atITVrescue.org/donate.

I can't wait to follow along with Ruger's recovery! Thanks It Takes a Village for helping this sweet boy, and thank you Officer Bishop for going above and beyond the call of duty!
