If you're looking to do some road tripping this summer, you probably want to make sure that you do it outside of the Tri-State. The website WalletHub.com just ranked all 50 states from the best place to take a road trip this summer to the worst. It appears that even though Indiana is the "Crossroads of America," it's not a good option for a road trip....and neither is Kentucky!

WalletHub based their findings based on three demolitions: Costs, Safety, and Activities. Within those three categories, there were a total of 31 factors that include:

  • the quality of the roads
  • traffic
  • driving laws
  • national parks
  • other activities and attractions
  • weather
  • shoreline and scenery
  • and gas prices.

Now looking at some of those factors, you might be surprised where some of those states ended up on the list...however, you might not be too surprised where Indiana and Kentucky ended up. The odd thing to me, is the fact that both Indiana and Kentucky ranked HIGHER than Hawaii! Apparently Hawaii has the highest average gas prices...that goes a long way in determining if you want to take a road trip or not.
